There is this wonderful trend here called The Babyccino. At almost any Cafe when you order a regular drink and you have a child with you they offer a babyccino for the little one. It's basically a capuccino cup of steamed milk with chocolate shavings or sprinkles depending on where we get it.
In the QV (One of the amazing shopping Centres within a 1 block radius of our apt) this wonderful shop called Max Brenners sells incredible chocolate. They have everything you could dream of chocolate wise, a menu full of rich & decadent food. We went as a promise of babyccinos for the boys and while I was in the cafe ordering I couldn't help but get the plate full of fresh strawberries and a warm bowl of chocolate for dipping. It was delicious. I did ask for babyccinos for the kids and they ended up charging $2 for each one. Usually I ask if they charge for them because I would rather pay for a hot chocolate than a steamed milk :) but I dropped the ball this time as I was distracted, and slightly overwhelmed by this Starbucks/Willy Wonka Chocolate factory shop! When our order arrived however the $2 charge seemed totally practical. Sitting in front of the boys were 12 oz cups of foamy goodness almost completely covered in a chocolate drizzle with freshly made marshmallows. Fresh marshmallow are yummy.
Just a nod to Arielle, James' cousin, Max Brenners were delicious but your still put them to shame! I'm going to need that recipe :)
I've never seen the kids clean a cup like that. Declan was so cute trying to get every last bit. Is it mean of me to be super excited that I caught this moment? He was concentrating SO hard and the disappointed face he made when he realized that was it. But now when he's older I'll tell him about it and have this sweet photo to show him.
Keep up the great stories Ileia, I love reading them!
